Dr. Adeel Ahmed attended one week Research Workshop in the USA 

Turbat, November 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):Dr. Adeel Ahmed, Dean Academics, University of Turbat recently received a Fellowship for attending a one-week research workshop held in the Duke University, North Carolina United States of America, a world-class institute, from 8th to 17th August 2021. Dr. Adeel Ahmed was the only participant from Pakistan among the fifty research scholars who had participated in the international workshop across the world.

Further, during the workshop Professors from the world reputed Universities have given their lectures and training to the participants. Dr. Adeel Ahmed received a mentorship session from the world-renowned Professor, Dr. Harold Koenig. Dr. Harold Koenig assured to enhance research collaboration and conducting joint projects with University of Turbat in the days to come.

Congratulating Dr. Adeel Ahmed, the vice-chancellor, University of Turbat, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad said that the research contributions and participation of Dr. Adeel Ahmed in the international forum of Duke University (USA) was an honour and a moment of pride for the University of Turbat. He said that his administration would continue to encourage and facilitate the faculty members to attend the conferences and workshops of national and international repute to be held abroad and in the country.

SMI University Celebrates World TV Day 2021

Karachi, November 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):Sindh Madressatul Islam University’s Directorate of Broadcasting and Media Trainings (MTC) organized one-day seminar on the occasion of “World Television Day”, on topic of Evolution of Television in Pakistan at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium, Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Karachi, on Tuesday 23rd November 2021 from 2pm to 5pm.

The Seminar started with Recitation of Holy Quran and National anthem of Pakistan. In Inaugural session Director MTC Mr. Mushtaq Muhammad welcomed all esteemed guests and students in the seminar and briefed about World Television Day. Mr. Tanveer Jamal (senior TV artist), gave his speech as keynote speaker at the event in which he addressed the issues of media and motivated the students to join television industry. Senior Broadcast journalist and Political Analyst Mr. Mazhar Abbas also highlighted the changing trends of media specifically current affairs and news section. Honourable Vice Chancellor SMI University Prof. Dr. Mujeeb Uddin Sahrai Memon expressed his views and thanked the dignitaries who attended the seminar.

Seminar on Evolution of Television in Pakistan consisted on 2 panel discussions covering entertainment and news sections of Television with renowned guest panellist. First panel discussion was named; TV as a Household: Journey of Its Diversity moderated by Ms. Hadia Khalil, lecturer Department of Media and Communication Studies with veteran and senior names of entertainment TV drama industry.

UET Centennial Gala-Literacy Society organized 34th All Pakistan Poetic Symposium 

Lahore, November 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):In the continuation of UET’s Centennial Gala, Literacy Society University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, organized “34th All Pakistan Poetic Symposium (Mehfil-e-Mushaira)”. In this event many renowned poets across the country participated and presented their poetry in attractive and unique style for the enjoyment of the audience. Comprising of the audience of 3000 students the event was presided over by famous poet Nazir Qaiser, while Ghulam Hussain Sajid was the chief guest.

Renowned poet Tehzib Hafi, Hameeda Shaheen, Khurram Affaq, Saleem Sagar and many other prominent poets delivered verse after verse of their best poetry. Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Registrar Muhammad Asif, Director Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser, Senior Warden Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq, PRO Shahida Nazir witnessed the mushaira. Poet, Wajid Ameer, Ghafir Shahzad, Tayyab Raza Kazmi, Aziz Faisal, Naveed Sadiq and Zulfiqar Adil also presented their poetry.

Capital University in Collaboration with Islamabad Police Organized a Seminar on “Drug Abuse” 

Islamabad, November 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):Volunteers In Service Directorate (VIS), Directorate of Student Affairs and Office of External Linkages and International Collaboration of Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST) in collaboration with Islamabad Police and Islamabad Traffic Police conducted a seminar at CUST. Worthy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhmmad Mansoor Ahmed presided over the occasion and Mr. Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman Inspector General of Islamabad Police was the chief guest. A large number of police officials and Faculty members, as well as students of CUST, attended the seminar. The event was organized on Thursday, 25 November 2021 and the topic of the seminar was “Use of Drugs”.

The seminar started with a recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem. Worthy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhmmad Mansoor Ahmed gave opening remarks and highlighted CUST Campus facilities. He said that more than 600 cameras are installed in the CUST campus to monitor students’ activities minutely but we could not trace anything wrong until now Alhamd-o-Lilah. Prof. Dr. Muhmmad Mansoor Ahmed thanked IG Islamabad Police for visiting CUST and collaborating with it.

After the keynote speech of worthy Vice Chancellor, Islamabad Police presented video presentation on use of drugs than Chief Guest of the event IG Islamabad Police emphasized on the issue which spread in our society rapidly special in our youth. He informed participants in his address, how Islamabad Police tackle this issue. Finally, he thanked worthy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhmmad Mansoor Ahmed and his team for organizing such a good and informative seminar for youth and showed his keen interest to collaborate more events with CUST. He said that the Islamabad police is organizing a series of awareness sessions for students to eradicate the use of drugs from our society.

In the end, Dean ELIC Prof. Dr. Amir Qayyum expressed gratitude to I.G Islamabad Police and his team for organizing a successful event with CUST. The seminar was concluded with the aim that CUST and Islamabad Police will organize more programs for youth on the topic in the future. The seminar closed with an exchange of souvenirs. IG Islamabad presented souvenir to Vice-Chancellor and Dean ELIC, and Vice-Chancellor present shield to IG, Islamabad, and SSP Islamabad Traffic Police.
