Top 4 SA Teams from PUBG MOBILE Pro League MENA & South Asia Championship Season 1 Booked PUBG MOBILE Global Championship 2021 Slots

PAKISTAN, Nov. 24, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The first-ever cross-region pro-level tournament in the form of PUBG MOBILE Pro League MENA & South Asia Championship came to its grand closure on 14th November. Teams from PMPL Arabia Season 2, PMPL South Asia Season 4, PMCO HTM Fall Split 2021, PMCO Africa Fall Split 2021, competed head to head for a prize pool of $150,000.

The tournament had 4 days of league stage and 2 days of finals where South Asian team, Stalwart Esports managed to grab the top spot with 204 points in the League Stage and MENA team Rico Infinity grabbed the title win with 130 points. Rico Infinity took home prize money of 40,000 USD.

The top 4 teams were to advance to the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship, but since DRS and Nigma Galaxy have already booked their spot in the tournament, the next 2 teams on the leaderboard ie, Cryptics and Deadeyes Guys, will get the slot and have a shot at the global stage.

Device partner, Oppo, played an active role in the success of the tournament with its immersive and fluid gaming experience.

Following the PMPL MENA & South Asia Championship will be the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship that is set to kickstart from 30th November with Grand Finals on 21st-23rd January. Both East and West will play League matches to book their slots for the League Finals and further to the Grand Finals. Both the regions will have 20 top squads competing for the prestigious title and a grand prize pool of 6,000,000 USD.

UCP signs an MoU with BARGAD 

Lahore, November 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):University of Central Punjab, Lahore, and Bargad signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 18-11-2021. On occasion, Dr. Nassar Ikram, Pro-Rector, UCP, and Ms. Sabiha Shaheen, Executive Director, Bargad, were present and inked the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. The leadership of UCP and Bargad, while signing the MoU, expressed their strong desire to strengthen university-industry linkages for producing market-ready professionals and change agents.

UCP, as a leading university in the country, has recently embarked upon an aggressive strategy to reduce the gap with the industry and enter into partnerships with various notable institutions. Session on “Design and Applications of Central Processing Units” 

Karachi, November 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):On Tuesday, 23rd November 2021, the Department of Management and Social Sciences at DHA Suffa University organized a guest speaker session on the topic, “Design and Applications of Central Processing Units (CPUs)”. The event was organized for the benefit of the BBA, BS A and F, and BS English students, related to the course “Introduction to Computing”, under the supervision of their course instructor, Ms. Sadia Mehboob.

The session was conducted by Engr. Rizwan Fazal, who has been associated with academia for the last 8 years. He has also served in the National Space Agency of Pakistan, SUPARCO, for more than 4 years in the Satellite Research and Development Center. He has worked as research associate in the department of Electronics and Communications Engineering at Tampere University of Technology, Finland. His current research interests include hardware and software design of heterogeneous computing systems.

Mr. Rizwan briefed the audience about the basic concepts of computer systems from the hardware and software perspective and enlightened students with lots of new trends and aspects of computer technology and also shared his experiences from corporate sector.

The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Bashir Ahmad, Dean Management and Social Sciences and Engr. Prof. Dr. Johar Khurshid Farooqi, Dean (EAS). The session was concluded with a Q/A session followed by presentation of plaque of appreciation to Engr. Rizwan Fazal by Engr. Prof. Dr. Johar Khurshid Farooqi, DHA Suffa University.

NCEAC Accreditation visit for BS (CS) Program of DHA Suffa University 

Karachi, November 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):The NCEAC Accreditation Team visited the Department of Computer Science for BS (CS) program on 19th November 2021. The visit started with the introductory session of Convener (with the worthy Vice Chancellor and Dean, Engineering and Applied Sciences) where he explained the aim and scope of the Accreditation Visit and its Importance. Head of Department of Computer Science then presented to the Team the Program Goals, Summary of Curricula, Faculty, Students, and Infrastructure of the BS(CS) program.

The Convener acknowledged the program’s current performance and also appreciated the Future Plans. The Team was highly impressed by the faculty, staff and facilities as both representatives; Dr. Jahangir Ikram, (Associate Professor, LUMS) and Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Asif (Professor, UET, Lahore) gave encouraging remarks at the end of the visit in their exit meeting with the Vice Chancellor in his office.

The MoU signing ceremony between DHA Suffa University and Woot Tech 

Karachi, November 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):DHA Suffa University and Woot Tech Pvt Ltd inked in a MoU for collaboration in research and development of unmanned systems technology for various applications aligned with Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Woot Tech is the first and only manufacturer of VTOL drones in the country and recently pioneered drone-based food deliveries in the country.

During the MoU signing ceremony, the Vice Chancellor DSU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal Haque emphasized the importance of industry-academia linkage and partnership for the development of technology driven eco-systems. The Pro-Vice Chancellor DSU, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas signed the MoU for DSU and assured rendering the services of the highly qualified faculty, the equipment available in the state-of-the-art labs of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Departments and computational resources of DHA Suffa University.

Dr. Bilal A. Siddiqui, COO and CTO and Mr. Raheel Pasha, CEO were present to sign the MoU for Woot Tech. They praised the University for its Quality of graduates and faculty. Woot Tech already employs many Suffians. The two sides held preliminary discussions on many initiatives where collaborations may result in increasing the presence of Pakistan on the international technology landscape.

Iqbal Day Commemorate by Alkhidmat 

Lahore, November 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):Alkhidmat Foundation Orphan Family Support Program Commemorate Iqbal Day in Balochistan’ Layyah and Quetta to pay tribute to the Thinker of Pakistan and the Poet of the East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Informative lectures were delivered to the children regarding highlighting different dimensions of Allama Iqbal’s inspirational life, his teachings and his revolutionary poetry. The children too wrote articles and gave speeches on the life of Allama Iqbal.
