Announcement: Extension in the Last Date to Make Course Selection – Fall 2021 

Lahore, November 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):

Dear Students,

It is hereby intimated that the course selection due date for add/drop/replace course(s) for fall 2021 semester has been extended up to Thursday, November 25, 2021.

Students failing to enroll/ select any course(s) by the last date will be treated as “Inactive Student” and such students may continue their studies after “Readmission” as per the University policy.

Classes will commence with effect from Monday, November 15, 2021.

Note:

Students’ will be responsible for his/her late course enrollment, any quizzes or assignment(s) if have been given or taken.

No request for the enrollment of courses and unfreeze of the semester will be considered after above said date.

Fee voucher once issued will not be adjusted/revised.

IIUI holds National Seminar on Iqbal 

Islamabad, November 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) hosted a national seminar on “Iqbal and the Modern Scenario” at Faisal Masjid Campus. The seminar was also collaborated by Departments of Urdu, History and Pak Studies.

Participants of the seminar opined that revival of the Muslim’s glories is possible by following Iqbal’s philosophy of independent reasoning and utilization of youth for unity in the ranks of Muslim World. The speakers shared their thoughts on Iqbal’s work, message and application of his ideas in society. Participants expressed that country can acquire socio-economic targets by following the guiding principles of the poet of East.

Allama Muhammad Iqbal, through his poetry motivated the Muslims for and revival of Muslim legacy. His message and thoughts are a source of solution to the contemporary challenges, said Prof. Dr. Muhammad Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, IIUI. He said that Iqbal’s pain for Muslims must be felt by all of the Muslim societies.

Prof. Jaleel Aali was the Chief Guest of the Seminar, while it was also attended by Barrister Zafarullah Khan, Dr. Habib Ur Rehman Asim, Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (R and E), IIUI, Executive Director, IRD, Dr. Husnal Ameen, Dr. Najeba Arif, Dean Faculty of Languages and Literature, IIUI, senior faculty members and a large number of male and female students of the university.

Prof. Jaleel Aali pointed out that intellectuals of east are over inspired from western literature and research. He opined that Iqbal advocates that Islam is a social movement. Barrister Zafarullah Khan paid rich tributes to Allama Iqbal and urged the youth to follow his message.

Dr. Habib ur Rehman Asim, a famous scholar and veteran teacher highlighted various aspects of Iqbal’s life and his message for Muslims. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed also shared his thoughts on the occasion and discussed relevance of his poetry and contemporary scope of Muslim youth. On the occasion, Dr. Husn ul Amin highlighted the objectives of the program and vision of IRD. He thanked all the intellectuals and researchers for attending the program and sharing valuable thoughts. Souvenirs were presented to the Chief guests and speakers of the seminars.

The Federal Government has approved PC-1 of National Cotton Breeding Research Institute at the IUB

Bahawalpur, November 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Federal Government has approved PC-1 of National Cotton Breeding Research Institute at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob thanked the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhr Imam, Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Chief Minister of the Punjab Sardar Usman Ahmad Khan Buzdar on this important development of agricultural economy especially cotton.

The Vice Chancellor also paid special thanks to Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfaraz, Provincial Minister for Education, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for National Food Security and Planning Commission of Pakistan. He congratulated to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment. An online meeting was held for National Cotton Breeding Research Institute, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur under the chairmanship of Dr. Hamid Jalil, Member National Food Security and Climate Change, Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by former Chairman Food Security and Rural Development and Consultant Dr. Akmal Siddique, Vice Chairman Pakistan Central Cotton Committee Dr. Muhammad Ali Talpur, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali, Cotton Commissioner Khalid Abdullah and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Agriculture. The meeting appreciated the steps taken by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal for re-promotion of cotton and textiles in the country and highly appreciated the newly developed varieties of cotton IUB-222, IUB-13, MM-58 produced in the university which are cultivated in Punjab.

The meeting was asked to adapt to the climatic and local conditions of high yielding climate change resistant diseases and insects and to perform better in less water and drought. Emphasis has been laid on the development of cotton varieties. It is noteworthy that the Islamic University Bahawalpur is paying special attention to agricultural research in accordance with national aspirations and priorities to revive the agrarian economy and prosperity of the farmers.

In this regard, special attention is being paid to research, discussion, seminars, conferences and publication of literature on new crop varieties, technology, land preparation, water management and other issues. It has already achieved fourth generation status for sale and has become a top priority for farmers based on its excellent production and performance. Islamia University Bahawalpur has also established a strong public-private partnership with the private sector. The University’s Cotton Research and Development team is working on various of cotton varieties that is making rapid efforts to detect Curl Leaf Viruses, water scarcity, whitefly infestation, and climate change.

The IUB is being taken steps to start classes in the newly established University College of Nursing 

Bahawalpur, November 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is being taken steps to start classes in the newly established University College of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences. In this regard, a delegation of Special Health Care and Medical Education Department, Government of the Punjab visited the University College of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences. The purpose of the visit was to link the University College of Nursing with the government hospitals. The delegation was called on the Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar.

The delegation included Dr. Mansoor Ghani, Assistant Professor, Secretary Affiliation Committee, University of Sciences, Lahore and Mubashira Maqbool, Assistant Director General, Punjab. Dr. Fazal Mehmood Khan, Director Health Education, Dr. Farhan Principal University College of Nursing and faculty members were present on the occasion. The members of the delegation expressed happiness over the establishment of State of the Art University College of Nursing at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

They appreciated the infrastructure and facilities provided in the college and assured all possible cooperation from their side. The delegation was informed that a large number of Allied Medical Education undergraduate and postgraduate programs are being launched at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. It is worth mentioning that a few days ago a delegation of Nursing Council also visited the University College of Nursing the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and had meeting with Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar and faculty members and reviewed the facilities of the college. It is hoped that classes will be launched in the nursing college very soon.

Certificate distribution ceremony of E-Rozgaar at IUB 

Bahawalpur, November 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):Certificate distribution ceremony of E-Rozgar Markaz established under Punjab Information Technology Board at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was held at the Main Auditorium BJC, IUB. On this occasion, certificates were distributed among 500 graduates. The special guest of the function was Focal Person E-Rozgar Markaz and Director Information Technology Rizwan Majeed while Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Chairman Department of Mathematics presided over the function. Director Academics Dr. Makshof Ahmed, Regional Manager E-Rozgar Usman Ali and former in-charge Haroon Munir were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the focal person said that the E-Rozgar Markaz scheme at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has become almost impossible. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob Vice Chancellor after the joining the responsibilities of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur as Vice Chancellor special interest to established E-Rozgar Markaz at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to facilitate the youth of this Region. At present, the training of more than one thousand youth is nearing completion at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with Punjab Information Technology Board under E-Rozgar Markaz, Regional Plan 9 and NFTP projects.

Unemployed young students have so far earned about Rs. 11 million from this center and it is increasing day by day. He said that Punjab government highly praised the performance of E-Rozgar Markaz of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The university has requested that in the next phase E-Rozgar Markaz be opened in Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan Campuses as well. Similarly, special evening classes should be conducted in the E-Rozgar Markaz for the students of the university. Addressing the function, other participants said that the project is a revolutionary step of the government which has provided employment to millions of youth and is also a source of earning a lot of foreign exchange for the country.

A special appreciation ceremony held at the IBMAS, IUB 

Bahawalpur, November 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):A special appreciation ceremony was held at the Institute of Business Management and Administrative Sciences the Islamia University Bahawalpur on the launch of the new program BS Digital Marketing. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Jawad Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, said that in accordance with the vision of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, educational programs on latest business and marketing trends are being introduced in the Institute of Business Administrative Sciences.

The Department of Management sciences have been transferred to the Institute of Business Management and Administrative Sciences in a state-of-the-art building. The institute’s has air-conditioned rooms equipped with latest audio-video and other facilities. Similarly, the newly constructed Amphitheater with a seating capacity of more than 2000 students will play a vital role in promoting education and other co-curricular activities. Faculty members and students were present on the occasion. Students bags were distributed among the new students by a private institution at the ceremony.
