Clay sculpture workshop

Faisalabad, October 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):Workshop on Clay Sculpture organized at Department of Design and Interiors, with facilitator and instructor Rida Yawar, an architect and entrepreneur, and sculpture enthusiast. The students participated enthusiastically and eagerly exploring clay mediums for design abstraction, converting basic sketches into relief pieces that will be used to cast silicone moulds and plaster of Paris sculptures.

1st International Conference on Bioinformatics and Computational Methods in Post 

Lahore, October 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Virtual University of Pakistan, has organized 1st International Conference on Bioinformatics and Computational Methods in Post Genomic Era from November 09th to 10th, 2021.

The conference aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers, and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of computational methods for genomics.

It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, educators, biotechnologists, pharmacists, botanists, zoologists, entomologists, and IT professionals who are actively engaged in this field to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of genomics.

ED HEC calls on IIU President 

Islamabad, October 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):Dr. Shaista Sohail, Executive Director, Higher Education Commission (HEC) called on Dr. Hathal Homoud Al-Otaibi, President, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). During the meeting, issues of mutual interest including initiatives for promotion of quality education and role of universities in society building were discussed.

IIUI President briefed Dr. Shaista on IIUI’s vision, future plans and strategy for academic excellence. IIUI President vowed that he will be in the leading ranks for cooperation with the HEC. Dr. Hathal said that IIUI will be keen to enhance its bilateral ties with the universities across the world. He also thanked ED HEC for the cooperation in approval of a sports academy for the university.

On the occasion, Dr. Shaista, while appreciating the role of IIUI in society building and services assured of maximum support to IIUI. She said universities must be given opportunities for linkages. She said that universities must promote exchange of experiences through mutual cooperation. She also hailed IIUI President’s vision for students’ focused approach and hoped that IIUI shall be participating actively in the universities’ Olympics.

IIUI holds National Seerat Conference 

Islamabad, October 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):First Lady, Samina Alvi has said that life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is best source of guidance in every walk of life. She was addressing National Seerat Conference at Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC). The conference was jointly organized by International Islamic University (IIU), Radio Pakistan (PBC) and Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ).

The first lady opined that Sunnah of Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the path that leads to the success in the world and thereafter. She urged the women to decorate their lives in the light of the teachings of Islam. She added that Seerah of Prophet (PBUH) must be followed as it is the ultimate source of being among the chosen ones. She hailed that organizers for the gathering also appreciated the participation of women in Naatiya Mushaira.

The conference was also attended by H.E. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President IIU, Muhammad Khichi, Director General PBC, Senator Fouzia Arshad, Vice President (Administration and Finance, IIUI), Dr. N.B. Jumani, Executive Director Associated Press of Pakistan Syeda Adeela Rubab Kazmi, General Secretary RIUJ Siddique Anzar, Students’ Adviser IIU, Dr. Tauqeer Sargana, coordinator of the conference Assistant Director P and PR, Al-Hassan, Assistant Director Students Affairs Jamshid ullah Khan and other officials of the university.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi said that appreciated the activity and thanked first lady for joining the sacred conference dedicated to Prophet (PBUH). He said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are the countries that are famous for the strong bond of friendship. Later, certificates and shields were distributed among the participants of Naatiya Mushaira, while souvenir was also presented to the chief guest First Lady. The conference ended with the pray for the stability and prosperity of Pakistan.
