Ambassador Platform “Celebrating 70 Years Pakistan-Germany Relations” 

Islamabad, October 21, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Centre for Strategic Perspectives (CSP) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) organised a Public Talk titled, “Celebrating 70 Years of Pakistan-Germany Relations,” on October 21, 2021. H.E. Bernhard Schlagheck, Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan was the Guest Speaker for the event.

In her introductory remarks Dr Neelum Nigar, Director, CSP, said that Pakistan and Germany have enjoyed seven decades of close and diverse relations based on mutual respect and cooperation. Germany has also provides development support to Pakistan mainly centred on renewables, climate protection, business, and health care.

While in his welcome Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Director General, ISSI said that Germany is an extremely important country and it’s Pakistan’s biggest trading partner in Europe. There has been a recent boost in the people-to-people contact between Pakistan and Germany which has helped relations to enhance further. Ambassador Chaudhry called Europe a resilient continent and said people would like to know where it stands with regards to changing geopolitical situation in the Indo-Pacific.

The Guest Speaker Ambassador Schlagheck in his talk said that Germany and Pakistan are engaged in high level bilateral visits which shows the level of trust between the two countries. Both countries are relatively young as both gained independence within two years of each other.

On the recent development in Afghanistan, Ambassador Schlagheck said that Germany is appreciative of Pakistan’s assistance in the Doha Process and in securing safe passage for its nationals from Afghanistan. He further said that there are several areas in the political sphere where the two sides can work closely; Afghanistan being one of them.

On Pakistan’s GSP+ status, Ambassador Schlagheck stated that after 2023 Pakistan’s status will be revaluated according to the new conventions and emphasised that Pakistan needs to make efforts to address certain challenges in this regard. Later, an interactive session was held which was moderated by Ambassador Chaudhry. At the conclusion, Ambassador Khalid Mahmood Chairman BoG, presented ISSI’s memento to Ambassador Schlagheck.

Disruption in Academic, Administrative Functioning of IIU won’t be tolerated: Administration 

Islamabad, October 21, 2021 (PPI-OT):A high-profile meeting pertaining to disciplinary situation and continuous indulgence of students in violating the code of conduct was held here at the new campus in which International Islamic University administration (IIU) deliberated to maintain tranquility, order and discipline in IIUI. The meeting was attended by Vice President (Academics), Vice President (A and F), Dean FSL, Dean FLL, Dean FSS, Dean FET, Dean FMS, Dean FA, Dean FBAS, Dean FuD, DG IIIE, Provost Hostels (M and F), Student Advisors (M and F), Incharge P and PR and Chief Security Officer.

The participants discussed ways to maintain the discipline and ensuring smooth academic atmosphere in the best interest of the students at-large. On the occasion, the IIU administration unanimously and unequivocally decided that no element is allowed to disrupt the academic and administrative functioning of the University by any means including blocking the faculty gates, transport, co-curricular activities.

It was also agreed that students involved in any such act/activity will immediately be expelled and an FIR shall be registered against them. The administration decided that if any offense cognizable under the law of the land is committed, that will be reported to civil administration for appropriate action by the law enforcement agencies.

Inclusion of Madaris in Educational System vital: Dr. Masoom

Islamabad, October 21, 2021 (PPI-OT):Rector International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai has called for a uniformed educational system, adding that Madaris must be included in such educational transformation. In his address at a Dialogue at Baluchistan University organized by Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD), Dr. Masoom Yasinzai said the religious leaders, scholars, Khanqas and Mashaikh have vital role to protect the ideology of Islam and Pakistan. He was addressing a Dialogue session titled “our education system, single curriculum and role of religious scholars”.

Executive Director IRD Dr Husn ul amin was present along with other researchers and scholars. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai said that since counselling and deliberation is a Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), religious and modern educational institutions should join hands in this regard and they must be given due opportunities to contribute in preparation of a single curriculum.

He said Different recommendations and suggestions for a uniform national curriculum and education system should be formulated as the federal government is taking serious steps in this regard, and in the first phase a uniform education system has been introduced at the primary level. He said that protection of the young generation from atheism is a big challenge for us as atheism is spreading among the youth at present. He said that importance of madrassas and religious scholars cannot be denied.

Dr. Husnul Al-Amin, Executive Director of the Institute, said that bridging the gap between religious seminaries and modern educational institutions is the need of the hour. He informed that the recommendations of this session shall be shared to concerned forums for formulation of a comprehensive policy.

He also opined that Urdu should be given importance in the curriculum and this consultation process should be further expanded by consulting all the organizations of madrassas, religious parties and people hailing from all walks of life. At the end of the ceremony, Rector International Islamic University Islamabad Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai distributed books and shields among the participants and guests.

MA Persian paper will be on October 28

Lahore, October 21, 2021 (PPI-OT):Punjab University Examinations Department has issued that the paper number 2 of MA Persian Part-II Supplementary Examination 2020 and Annual Examination 2021, which was earlier held on October 14, will now be taken again on October 28, 2021. However, the time of the paper and the examination center will remain the same as for the examination to be held on October 14.

IIUI Rector, President congratulate Dr. Aamir Tuaseen on Award of National Seerah Article 

Islamabad, October 21, 2021 (PPI-OT):International Islamic University (IIU) leadership has felicitated Dr. Aamir Tuaseen, member of the Board of the Governors of University, on receiving the award of best National Seerah Article for the 8th time.

Dr. Aamir Tuaseen is renowned scholar, educationist, DG Majlis e Ilmi Foundation and also former Chairman Madrassa Board. Title of his research article was “Role of Masjid, Madaris, Khanqas, and Imambargahs for the promotion of unity and harmony in the light of teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)”. He received his award from Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser and Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noor ul Haq Qadri in the 46th session of the National Rehmatul Lil Aalameen Conference.

IIUI Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai and President Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi while congratulating the worthy member of the university Board of Governors, said that his services for the society, especially, in the field of education and dissemination of peace and harmony are matchless. They said IIUI is proud that its statutory body is having such a scholastic and prudent personality as a member.

Institute of Applied Psychology celebrated ‘Shan-e-Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen’ 

Lahore, October 21, 2021 (PPI-OT):Institute of Applied Psychology celebrated ‘Shan-e-Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen’. The program was organized by the worthy director of Institute of Applied Psychology, Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique and compered by Mr. Muhammad Ali. The program commenced by the recitation of Holy Quran followed up by Naat-e-Rasool (P.BU.H). The notable speaker for the milad was Prof. Nureed Fatima, a religious scholar whose talk focused around the characteristics of Prophet (P.B.U.H) and the rights, responsibilities and the code of conduct of the Muslim Ummah.

Students, staff and non-staff members of IAP enthusiastically participated in the program by reciting Qasida-e-Burda Shareef, Darood-O-Salam and Dua towards the end of the program. Students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the program. Milad was brought to an end by the certificate distribution to the participants.
