Lahore, October 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh visited National Hockey Stadium to inspect arrangements of the upcoming First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship here on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Deputy Director Chand Perveen and Assistant Director Raeesur Rehman on this occasion.

Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh visited different parts of National Hockey Stadium to examine all the arrangements thoroughly. He issued necessary directions to concerned officials for the smooth holding of the First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship.

Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh also received Sindh Colours women hockey team at the National Hockey Stadium. Kashmala and Sumaira are manager and coach respectively of the touring team which reached here for participation in First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship.

Preparation for International Mawlid-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference underway

Lahore, October 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): The MQI leaders visited the Minar-e-Pakistan grounds to inspect the arrangements for the 38th International Mawlid-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference. Secretary Milad Committee Jawwad Hamid, while speaking on the occasion said that, said that compliance with the security and Covid-related SoPs is our priority. He said that we are thankful to the district Lahore administration and the Minar-e-Pakistan management for extending their cooperation to us. He said that Minar-e-Pakistan is historic sit and protecting its installations is our national responsibility.

Those who visited the Minar-e-Pakistan included president MQI Lahore chapter Rana Nafees Hussain Qadri, central General Secretary MWL Sidra Karamat, Nazim Minhaj Ulama Council Allama Mir Asif Akbar, Fahneeqa Nadim, Shahzad Rasool and others. Central Secretary Information Noorullah Siddiqui was also part of the inspect delegation.

The MQI leaders inspected the main stage, entry points, security and parking spaces and reviewed arrangements. The International Mawlid-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference will be held at the Minar-e-Pakistan during the intervening night of the 11th and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. The venue will be tastefully decorated to reflect the festivity on the occasion of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) birthday.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will deliver a special address to the hundreds of thousands of participants of the Conference. Separate enclosures for the male and female participants are being set up. All the participants have been asked to wear mask without which entry into the grounds will not be allowed.

First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship is being organised to prepare Pakistan female hockey players for FIH Hockey 5s World Cup: Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti

Lahore, October 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti in a statement on Wednesday said the upcoming First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship will provide an ideal platform to young female hockey players of the country to exhibit their hockey skills.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship is being organised to prepare Pakistan female hockey players for first-ever FIH Hockey 5s World Cup scheduled to be staged in Oman’s capital city, Muscat.

It may be noted here that Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will field two teams each in the tournament while Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, Army, HEC, WAPDA and Railways will send one team each for the grand hockey tournament scheduled to be staged at National Hockey Stadium from October 15 to 20, 2021.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti further said Pakistan girls have been blessed with plenty of hockey potential. “This event will also play a key role in enhancing the confidence of our women and then they will be able to perform their duties in other fields as well with a great amount of confidence especially in an environment when there are a large number of harassment cases emerging against women”.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said the holding of First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship is definitely a revolutionary step and it will help a lot in making the future of hockey bright among the females of Pakistan. “The players from all parts of the country are featuring in this grand event and we are quite upbeat that Pakistan women hockey will get several talented female hockey players after this championship,” he added.

Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said Pakistan women should participate in a maximum number of hockey competitions. “We will provide every kind of assistance for the promotion of hockey among womenfolk”.

PPP leaders demand an apology from PM Imran Khan for calling the Pakhtun nation terrorists

Islamabad, October 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Peoples Party central leaders have demanded that the Prime Minister should apologize for calling the Pakhtun nation terrorist. The government has destroyed all institutions. Now, an institution like the army should not be made controversial.

These views were expressed by PPP Central Secretary Information Faisal Karim Kundi, former member National Assembly Akhwanzada Chitan, Senator Rubina Khalid, Syed Sibtul Hassan Bukhari in a joint press conference. They were accompanied by PPP Media Coordinator Nazir Dhoki and Raja Noor Elahi. Faisal Karim Kundi said that the nation was saddened by the demise of Dr Qadeer Khan. Pakistan lost a great personality with the demise of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan. The government did not fulfil the will of Dr. Qadeer for burial in Faisal Mosque. The government did not honour Dr. Qadeer Khan.

He said that the appointment of DG ISI has been made controversial by the selected Prime Minister. The government has given an opportunity to the media of the enemy country to criticize our forces. “I want to tell Imran Khan that the former tribal areas had guarded the borders for 60 years” Kundi said. The party condemns Imran Khan’s declaration of the Pashtun nation as terrorists. Imran Khan should apologize to the nation for declaring Pashtuns as terrorists.

Faisal Karim Kundi said that the details of the gifts in the treasury should be brought before the nation. Opposition parties should unite and get rid of this selected and puppet government by bringing a no-confidence motion in Punjab and the Centre. He said that inflation has made life miserable for the people against which PPP is protesting all over the country. The government is playing with the future of young doctors. He also condemned the police brutality at the press conference of eunuchs.

Akhunzada Chitan said that the Taliban’s statement was about Islam, jihad and caliphate. The Taliban never spoke of Pakhtuns or nationalism. The Taliban was based in Kandahar where they fought Pakhtun leaders. Asfandyar Wali, Mahmood Achakzai, Manzoor Pushtin, Aftab Sherpao have never supported the Taliban. He said that before the jihadi culture was introduced, there was no such thing as crime in the entire tribal districts.

Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh urges Punjab’s selected players to work hard and win Inter-Provincial Male U-17 and Female U-16 Badminton Tournament title in Quetta

Lahore, October 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): Sports Board Punjab (SBP), on the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh, conducted the badminton trials at Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) Gymnasium Hall on Saturday.

Over 80 male and female athletes from all nine divisions of the province participated in the trials. Punjab’s U-17 Boys and U-16 Girls teams comprising 5 players and two officials each will participate in the Inter-Provincial Male Under-17 and Female Under-16 Badminton Tournament slated to be staged in Quetta from Oct 15 to 17, 2021.

Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh in a statement on Saturday said that Punjab’s 5-member selection committee conducted the athletics trials on merit. He also congratulated Punjab’s selected male and female badminton players.

Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said Sports Board Punjab will provide best facilities to all camp probables during their training. He directed all the selected players to work hard and win badminton title in Quetta.

He said after the trials, Punjab’s selected 14 badminton players (seven male and seven female) will take part in a training camp from Oct 10 to 13 where expert coaches and trainers of Sports Board Punjab will polish their game skills so that they can offer excellent performance in the forthcoming mega event.

Punjab’s 5-member selection committee including Director Sports Haheez Bhatti, Assistant Director Raees ur Rehman, Sports Department coach Zareena Waqar, Punjab Badminton Association coach Sajid Hussain and DSO Lahore office coach Shabana Akhtar supervised the trials activity.

U-16 girls selected for camp training: Tayyba Shafiq, Aysha Shafiq (Lhr), Aimen Fatima (Bwp), Kashmine Nadeem (Mul), Esha Javeed (Khanewal), Kinza (Rwp) and Aysha Noor (DG Khan).

U-17 boys selected for camp training: Saud Amir (Lhr), Ibraheem Rasheed (Rwp), Zain Bajwa (Vehari), Sanwal Shafiq (Sahiwal), Abdullah Tahir (Multan), Usman Habib (RY Khan) and Ammar Janjua (Rwp).
