VIS Directorate at CUST Signs MoU with Rifah Trust

Islamabad, October 04, 2021 (PPI-OT): There was a MoU renewal ceremony between VIS-CUST and Rifah Trust in CUST campus, Islamabad on October 04, 2021. The Trust mainly focus on Education, Health and Technical Trainings sectors. Dr. Amir Qayyum is chairman of Rifah Trust and Professor in Capital University of Science and Technology. Rifah Trust is one of valuable partner of VIS-CUST. It was discussed in meeting with Chairman Rifah Trust that:

Around 45 students will be registered per semester for Rifah Trust.

The group will be comprised on 12 to 15 students.

A meeting will be held between partners prior one month to placement of volunteers to discuss mechanism.

A delegation of Government College Akhuwat Foundation visits IIUI

Islamabad, October 04, 2021 (PPI-OT): A delegation of the students of NJV, Govt College, Akhuwat Foundation, Karachi visited Faisal Masjid Campus of International Islamic University (IIU) and met with university Rector, Professor Dr. Masoom Yasinzai.

In his speech, IIU Rector welcomed the delegation and appreciated the role of Akhuwat Foundation in society. Talking about the youth and future, Dr. Masoom said that skilled youth with balanced personalities are the need of the hour. He said our focus is to produce minds that must be well equipped to seek guidance from the Islamic teaching and values. He added that IIUI also gives importance to make the youth well prepared as per requirements of the market and industry. “ Hard work is the attribute that always pays back, never stop working hard , keep moving forward as it is the secret of success” he said.

Nazir Tunio, who was heading the delegation and also Director at Akhuwat foundation thanked IIU Rector and his team for the reception, briefing and visit to the libraries and Faisal Mosque. He said that the introductory session about the university was beneficial as students took keen interest in faculty and programs of the university. He told that established in 2015, Akhuwat College is a residential college that houses and educates bright, young people selected on merit from all corners of Pakistan.

The college caters to students from low-income households who despite their talent and desire to pursue education, are unable to do so due to financial constraints. The students also visited the Faisal Masjid Islamic Centre of Dawah Academy where its Incharge Dr. Qari Zia ul Islam gave a detailed briefing about the centre, its curriculum and its classes for Hufaz, Qiraat and Tajweed, The delegation also visited Dr. Hamid Ullah Library.

Service to humanity should be the mission of every human being: Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, October 04, 2021 (PPI-OT): Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Abrar-ul-Haq called on Acting Governor Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at Governor House. Abrar-ul-Haq’s brother Major (retd) Israr-ul-Haq was also present in the meeting. The three leaders discussed the relief efforts of the Pakistan Red Crescent and other welfare organizations.

Abrar-ul-Haq briefed the Acting Governor Punjab about the performance of the Red Crescent. Abrar-ul-Haq and Israr-ul-Haq also inquired about the well-being of former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujat Hussain. Speaking on the occasion, Ch Parvez Elahi said that the demise of renowned artist Umar Sharif was an irreparable loss not only to the country but also to the artist community.

He said that relief activities from the Red Crescent platform are a good step to serve the suffering humanity. He said that service to humanity should be the mission of every human being, we have always sponsored welfare activities individually and collectively as welfare institutions are a great platform for the relief of suffering humanity.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 opens the door to fans as tickets go on sale

Dubai, October 04, 2021 (PPI-OT): Cricket fans from across the world are invited to Oman and the UAE to ‘Live the Game’ at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, with tickets for every one of the 45 matches going on sale today.

Tickets are available to fans to watch the top 16 T20 teams in the world vying for the ultimate prize in the shortest format, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup starting in Muscat on 17 October and concluding in the UAE on 14 November. With prices starting at just 10 OMR and 30 AED in Oman and UAE respectively, the event is accessible to all cricket fans. Tickets are available to purchase on https://www.t20worldcup.com/tickets.

In the UAE all venues will be operating at approximately 70% of maximum seated capacity, whilst Abu Dhabi has also introduced new socially distanced ‘pods’ of a maximum of 4 spectators on their east and west grass mounds. The Oman Cricket Academy has had a temporary infrastructure built to welcome 3,000 fans.

The ICC and event hosts BCCI have worked closely with host authorities to ensure fans can be welcomed in a safe environment and COVID 19 protocols will apply at all venues.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 is the largest sporting event to be held in the region and it will be the biggest global cricket event since the pandemic with fans in stadia.

The schedule offers a host of key rivalry fixtures and mouth-watering match ups. The tournament kicks off with the Round 1 match between Oman and Papua New Guinea in Muscat. Whilst, Australia and South Africa play the first match of Super 12s on 23 October in Abu Dhabi followed by the replay of the 2016 final between England and West Indies also on 23 October in Dubai. One of cricket’s biggest rivalries, India and Pakistan, will take place on 24 October in Dubai.

Among full member nations Bangladesh, Ireland and 2014 winners Sri Lanka, there are also Namibia, Netherlands, Oman, Papua New Guinea, and Scotland all battling to qualify for the Super 12 stage. There are four available places joining Afghanistan, Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and West Indies in the Super 12 stage.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup promises to be a spectacle featuring cricket’s global superstars, among them Virat Kohli, Eoin Morgan, Kieron Pollard, and Babar Azam.
