Lahore, July 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):A 3-Days Teacher’s Training under the Faculty Development Program on “Countering Violent Extremism, Leadership and Critical Thinking for Selected Faculty Members” was held by the Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab in collaboration with Media Training and Research Center (MTRC) and Inter University Consortium for promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS). The focal person of the training program, Prof. Dr. Altaf Ullah Khan, Dean Faculty of Humanities, FC College and Director Institute of Applied Psychology, Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique introduced the session with sharing the objectives of the project. More than 20 faculty members attended the 3-Days Training Program.

The content focused around improvisation of teaching skills in the classroom settings by inculcating creativity, critical thinking, tolerance and leadership among students. Moreover, promoting peace and ways to resolve conflicts on campus and in the classroom is crucial for the future and mental health for both the teachers and the students. Following online events, it was an on-campus program after a long break ensuring SOPs that resulted in an interactive 3 days session. The 3- days training program was concluded by the Certificate Distribution Ceremony by Prof. Dr. Umbreen Javaid Dean faculty of social sciences followed by closing keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique.

Lahore, July 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):The College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of the Punjab, Lahore is organizing a “Series of Awareness Webinars (Hybrid Events) on Plastic Pollution Free Pakistan” scheduled on July 1st, 8th and 29th, 2021. This webinar series is focused on the theme of Plastic Free Pakistan in order to create awareness among the community.

Today, on July 8, 2021 it was the 2nd webinar to celebrate the month of July in context of Plastic Pollution Free Pakistan. The second Webinar proceeded with the welcome address by Dr. Abdul Qadir on the view point of how plastic has irreversible and devastating effects on the environment. He further emphasized how human are the only responsible species for the environmental degradation. Ms. Sheeza Arshad young researcher of the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES) presented on the use and disposal of diapers in context of attitude and practices.

The second Speaker Dr. Zaigham Abbas, technical expert on plastic waste from Ministry of Climate Change, Govt. of Pakistan, Islamabad gave an interactive session on plastic waste scenario in the context of national and international commitments. Dr. Narendra Singh from School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shenzhen Guangdong, China presented on preventing petrochemical plastic pollution and sustainable alternatives. The 4th Speaker Dr. Muhammad Irfan Sial, National Textile University, Karachi Campus presented on microfiber pollution in laundry and textile wet processing industry.

Ms. Nazeefa Butt, Senior Manager for Climate Change and Energy Program, Head of corporate partnerships WWF, Pakistan highlighted the contribution of WWF Pakistan core intervention on plastic pollution. The last speaker Dr. Stephanie Wright from Centre for Environment and Health, Imperial College London, UK presented “Is Plastic Air Pollution a Public Health Concern ” At the end Prof. Dr. Sajid Rashid Ahmad concluded the event by thanking all the participants, the organizers Dr. Abdul Qadir, Ms. Anam Tariq and the importance of each individual on minimizing the plastic pollution in the first phase.

Lahore, July 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):University of the Punjab will announce the result of Associate Degree in Science / Arts (B.A./B.Sc.) Part-I and Part-II Annual Examination 2020 on Monday, 12 July, 2021. All affiliated colleges and private candidates are informed that last date for submission of admission forms for Associate Degree in Science / Arts (B.A./B.Sc.) Part-I and Part-II Annual Examination 2021 till Friday, July 30, 2021 with single Fee. This schedule is open for only those candidates who appeared in Associate Degree in Science / Arts (B.A./B.Sc.) Part-I and Part-II Annual Examination 2020. No admission form will be accepted by hand or by post.

Note:

The examination of Associate Degree in Science / Arts (B.A./B.Sc.) Part-I and Part-II Supplementary 2020 and Annual 2021 will be conducted in last week of September 2021. Candidates who have already submitted their admission forms for Associate Degree in Science / Arts (B.A./B.Sc.) Part-I and Part-II Annual Examination 2021 are not required to submit their admission forms again.

26% Pakistanis think that they are very emotional while 1 in 5 thinks that they are not emotional at all: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, July 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 26% of Pakistanis think that they are very emotional.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “How emotional do you think you are?” In response to this question, 26% said ‘very emotional’, 31% said ‘somewhat emotional’ while 17% said ‘a little emotional’ while 21% said ‘not emotional at all.’ 5% did not know/did not respond.

Nyxoah Announces Closing of Nasdaq Initial Public Offering and Underwriters’ Full Exercise of Option to Purchase Additional Shares

Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium – July 8, 2021, 10:30pm CET / 4:30pm ET – Nyxoah SA (Euronext Brussels/Nasdaq: NYXH) (“Nyxoah” or the “Company”), a medical technology company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative solutions to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), today announced the closing on July 7, 2021 of its initial public offering in the United States (the “Offering”) of 2,835,000 ordinary shares at a price to the public of US$30 per share for total gross proceeds of US$85.1 million before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses. In addition, Nyxoah announced today that the underwriters of the Offering have exercised their option to purchase additional shares in full. The option to purchase additional shares granted to the underwriters was for the purchase of up to an additional 425,250 new ordinary shares, at the public offering price of US$30 per share, before underwriting discounts and commissions. This exercise will bring the total gross proceeds of the Offering to US$97.8 million before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses.   The closing of the exercise of the option to purchase additional shares is expected to occur on July 9, 2021, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

Piper Sandler, Stifel and Cantor acted as joint book-running managers for the offering. Degroof Petercam acted as a co-manager.
