OIC Pakistan has shortlisted their representative from IUB

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Model OIC Pakistan has shortlisted their representative from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Model Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Mahin Khan, the student of Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Institute of Business, Management and Administrative Sciences has been selected as the President.

The Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, based in Turkey is an academic simulation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which aims at educating participants about current trends in theory and practice of International relations, effective communication and multilateral diplomacy. The Model OIC Academic Training and Diplomatic Simulation Program (Model OIC), which form part of the 14-priority Joint Youth Action Plan, was adopted by the 3rd Session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Minister and approved by the 43rd Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

IUB organized International Virtual Symposium on Infodemic Management

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Department of Library and Information Science, organized a two-days Virtual International Symposium on Infodemic Management: How mis (dis) and mal-information can affect the world and how to swamp the landscape of information disorder with accurate information. During inaugural ceremony Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Chairman, Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), Symposium Patron-in-Chief, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences highlighted that the scale of the crisis and ubiquity of the misleading information demand that scientists, healthcare professionals, information professionals, public health experts, social scientists, psychologists, journalists, and policymakers see it as their professional responsibility to help the general public identify fake news stories.

MoU signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Peace and Culture Organization

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Under the Memorandum of Understanding between Islamia University Bahawalpur and Peace and Culture Organization, the Kashmir issue will be highlighted nationally and internationally. In this regard, a Kashmir Society will be formed which will promote research activities to effectively present the Kashmir issue in international institutions. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor and Ms. Mushaal Hussein Mullick in Islamabad.

Students and faculty of Islamia University Bahawalpur will raise their voices as ambassadors and work on research projects for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue so that human rights violations and legal aspects can be effectively highlighted. The UN Security Council resolution paves the way for the right to self-determination, and it is need of the how to highlight this resolution internationally, the Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur said on this occasion while Prof. Dr. Jawad Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Aftab Hussain Gillani, Dean Faculty of Law and Zafar Sindhu were also present.

IUB with collaborations organized a free Homeopathic Medical camp

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):A free Homeopathic Medical camp was organized by University Collage of Conventional Medicine the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with Kamal Laboratories, Blossom Laboratories and Association of Graduate Homeopaths. As many as 360 patients suffering from different disorders were given medical treatment by faculty members of Homeopathic discipline and provided free medicine.

Facility of Free ultrasound was also provided in the camp. Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences and Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Asif, Principal, University College of conventional Medicine appreciated and encouraged the faculty members and students for organizing this free medical camp. Students of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery actively participated in the medical camp.

Vice Chancellor IUB visited the Head Office of Pakistan Oil Seed Development Board Islamabad

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur recently visited the Head Office of Pakistan Oil Seed Development Board Islamabad and met with Dr. Khair Muhammad Kakar, Managing Director. Dr. Muhammad Ali Raza, Post Doctor of Sichuan Agriculture University China Were present. Discussions were held on support for ongoing agricultural projects and joint ventures at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

Both sides agreed that the Pakistan Oilseed Development Board would provide full support for the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Maize and Soybean Mega Project. Managing Director Dr. Khair Muhammad Kakar said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is playing a significant role in agricultural development not only in South Punjab but also in the whole country which will be fully encouraged. The occasion also saw the development of cooperation for three major projects.

Webinar on International Humanitarian Law and Henry Dunant Law Moot Competition held at IUB

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):“International Humanitarian Law is an emerging field that is ripe for the hundreds of aspirants of law”, these were the comments shared by one of the brightest minds of Pakistan in the field of IHL, Dilawar Khan during IUB Law Mooting Society’s webinar held on International Humanitarian Law and Henry Dunant Law Moot Competition.

Other speakers that joined us were Amna Riaz, Asif Khan, Ali Imran Shah and Ahsan Qazi. All of them shared vibrant details and their insight regarding the field and how competitions are enhancing the academic and professional lives of law students. Dean Faculty of Law Dr. Aftab Hussain Gillani also joined as guest of honour and applauded the efforts of the society. Mr. Jibran Jamshed moderated and organized the session that provided much-needed awareness regarding IHL and Mooting in students of IUB and Pakistan.
