15th West Asia Cup Islamabad, Indian Baseball team confirmed to tour Pakistan

Lahore, November 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): The Indian baseball team has confirmed to participate in the 15th West Asia Baseball Cup to be held in Islamabad in December 2022. While talking to media Manger, the President Pakistan Federation Baseball Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said that Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) has allotted to host 15th West Asia Baseball Cup in Pakistan. The event will be held from December 20 to 24 in Islamabad.

The Indian Baseball Federation has confirmed to participate in the event. Teams from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Palestine already confirmed their participation. Nepal and Iran were also invited and hope that they will confirm within a week or two.

According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, The SAF Games will be held in Pakistan next. It is very important to hold West Asia Cup event in Pakistan before the SAF Games as India, Nepal and Sri Lanka as member SAF will participate in the event including Pakistan. This event will help to prepare strong Pakistan team for the Asian games.

He said, the Pakistan baseball team has participated in the World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Panama October first week, despite visa issue and rest of team arrived on match day the Pakistan team played the best game and the Pakistani players also impressed the foreign coaches with their good game.

The PFB had organized the team’s camp for the World Baseball Classic Qualifier (WBCQ) under the supervision of Pakistani coach Mr. Nisar Ahmed with the support of army sports directorate and Federation has announced a reward of Rs 100,000 for the coach Nisar Ahmed due to the excellent performance of the Pakistan team in WBCQ, more he said.
