Karachi, October 18, 2017 (PPI-OT):Usman Institute of Technology proudly hosted a detailed information session where their world famous alumnus, Shahmeer Amir was the speaker. Shahmeer Amir has not only gained international recognition in the field of cyber security ethical hacking; identifying loopholes in companies’ cyber security, but has established his very own company as CEO, Veilux built on those foundations.
Following his vision of a safer internet, Shahmeer Amir is now the Founder and CEO of Pakistan’s Cyber Security startup Veilux aiming to secure all kinds of organizations. Internationally known companies like Facebook, LinkedIn, Microsoft and the like, all have Veilux to thank for his work in identifying and offering rectifying solutions in their cyber security protocols. He has collected over $150,000 dollars in rewards for reporting bugs in major companies’ security systems.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director of UIT, Dr. Zahir Ali Syed said, “We are extremely proud of Shahmeer and what he has achieved and wish him the best for his future endeavours. It is students like Shahmeer that set themselves apart and become a shining example making not just Usman Institute of Technology proud, but all of Pakistan.” Further, Dr. Zahir Ali Syed, Director, UIT awarded Shahmeer Amir with a honorary plaque of Distinguished Alumnus to appreciate his outstanding achievements in his field.
Shahmeer completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from Usman Institute of Technology, Karachi in the year 2014. He also holds relevant certifications in the field of cyber security from renowned organizations like EC-Council, Mile2, E-Learn Security etc. By profession, Shahmeer is an electrical engineer working on different Internet of Things (IoT) products to make the lives of people easier.
