Corona Vaccination Camp at IIUI

Islamabad, July 06, 2021 (PPI-OT):A corona vaccination camp is arranged at the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). All those employees who didn’t get any corona vaccination are hereby informed that University is arranging vaccination camp at Medical Centre IIUI for two days 06-07-2021 to 07-07-2021.Those employees who got 1st vaccine dose may visit camp to get their 2nd vaccine dose.

Those who didn’t get any vaccination dose are requested to send CNIC no at 1166 for registration so they can avail this opportunity and kindly save the message so that the vaccination process will be carried out smoothly.

Note: For vaccination registration on 1166 is compulsory. Females vaccination will be in female campus.

President, IIUI chairs meeting of Board of Advanced Studies and Research

Islamabad, July 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):Students must be provided best facilities in the campus so that they can study in a peaceful and healthy environment said H.E. Dr. Hathal Hamoud Alotaibi, President, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) while chairing 6th meeting of Board of Advanced Studies (BASR-6) which was held here in the Council Hall Administration Block of New Campus.

In this regard President IIUI stressed all the administration and faculty of the university to facilitate students with respect to their needs and emphasized to provide best solutions of all issues immediately, if occur. Dr. Hathal also aimed to meet the international standards to achieve the global ranking among best universities. He urged for the unity among the varsity population and desired that university’s message of promotion of peace and goals of internationalization must be kept in mind by all the officials to make IIUI in the leading ranks of the renowned educational institutions.

Addressing to the meeting participants President IIUI also said that the university is like our home and we all should safeguard and strengthen its foundations and no one should try to damage its foundations because the university is our Alama Mater. It is the responsibility of all fraternity to work for the betterment and image building of the institution at all levels.

Dr. Hathal, President IIUI reviewing the agenda of the meeting emphasized that research topics must reflect the crux of research study while students must complete research work within the due time as per policy of the university however, the board also shared a proposal for permission of one year’s relaxation in submitting research work as per university approved policy. President called upon the faculty to keep working hard for the academic excellence and assured of maximum cooperation to faculty and students, while he hoped that constructive research will be conducted in future.

During the meeting, the board discussed and analyzed synopses’ of PhD and MS students’ of Faculty of Islamic Studies (Usuluddin), International Institute of Islamic Economics, Faculty of Shariah and Law, and Faculty of Social Sciences, IIUI. The board members also shared valuable suggestions with the President for future research work of the students.

Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President (Academics), Prof. Dr. N.B. Jumani, Vice President (AF and P), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shujah Syed, Vice President (HS and R), Prof. Dr. Farkhanda Zia, Vice President (Female Campus), Director Generals, Deans, Director (QAD), Director (ORIC), Heads of Departments and other relevant officials were also present in the meeting.

Youth plays pivotal role in Building Inclusive and Tolerant Society: Rector, IIUI

Islamabad, July 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):Prof. Dr. Muhammad Masoom Yasinzai Rector, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) while addressing a seminar on “The Role of Youth in Building an Inclusive and Tolerant Society” has said that we are living in a society where youth can do wonders by their abilities and their positive roles as the agents of change and inclusion. He added that students regardless of their majors are obliged to keep spreading the positivity and decrease the negativity.

The Seminar was organized by Iqbal Institute of Research and Diallogue, (IRD), IIUI in collaboration with Karakoram International University, (KIU) Gilgit. Professor Dr. Attaullah Shah, Vice Chancellor, KIU in his closing remarks appreciated the efforts of IRD and emphasized that such activities must be organized more frequently. He further said that being a nation we should follow merit and individual commitment.

The seminar was also addressed by Dr. Husnul Amin, Executive Director, IRD, IIUI, Mr. Waqas Ahmed, Resource Person from IRD, IIUI, Dr. Tasawar Baig, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), KIU while, it was also attended by a large number of students.

First Batch of National Freelance Training at IIUI

Islamabad, July 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):First batch of National Freelance Training at International Islamic University (IIU) has been launched. An MoU was signed between IIUI and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) for the establishment of National Freelance Training centers in IIU for Youth empowerment under Prime Minister Initiative.

The aim of this project is to empower unemployed youth by providing out of work graduates and students with necessary means to earn an honourable income online. This will be achieved through hands on training on international freelancing platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork etc.by partnering with public institutions and organizations that share the same vision.

In the center, freelancing training will be provided to youth to empower them for employment. It will be focused on producing skilled and digitally aware human resource. The agreement is aimed to promote technology and entrepreneurship across the country. Both the university and the board have agreed to jointly work for main streaming the digital skills.

According to details provided by IT department, The first batch of this program started in IIU on 1st of the July 2021 and it includes 350 students. The project is being managed by the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering of IIU. In start, the training mode is online which will be covering following three domains:

Technical: CSS, PHP and SQL

Content Marketing and Advertising: Blogging and SEO

Creative Design: Graphic Designing

The department has assigned a separate coordinator for each domain to effectively manage the students in online and face to face mode of learning.

LMS Result Transformation System launched

Islamabad, July 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):The IT Center of the International Islamic University (IIU) in collaboration with Exam section has launched a result transformation system integrated with LMS. According to details provided by Incharge IT, the new system has efficiently automated the existing system by improving the transparency, accuracy and precision. He added that the transformation system will be a source of reduced time and manual efforts required in this process.
