Pasban welcomes decision for Hujjaj on waiting list

Karachi, June 10, 2017 (PPI-OT):Pasban e Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor has welcomes the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to declare the Hujjaj on the waiting list as successful by the federal ministry of religious affairs and congratulated the successful Hujjaj.

In a statement, he said that the struggle of Pasban’s Public Issues Committee director Abubakar Usman and Advocate Irfan Aziz bore fruit. He demanded that from the next year full government quota should be given directly to the masses and the trade in the name of Hajj should be stopped for good. He said the struggle of Pasban for getting better facilities for the Hujjaj would be further accelerated. He said as per the decision of 60percent quota, 17563 Hujjaj on the waiting list have been declared as successful and Pasban congratulates them.

He said that Pasban Public Issues Committee has been raising voice for many years to stop giving quota to private traders, as it has made the religious obligation of Hajj as a profitable trade. He said we have been giving suggestions to the federal ministry for Hajj to end fleecing of the Hujjaj in the name of private packages. He further said that a petition of the Pasban is also pending in the high court and it is expected that it may be decided in a week or so.

He requested the government and the apex courts to give 75percent quota of Hajj to the applicants of government scheme so that more and more people could perform Hajj. He regretted that private companies are looting citizens by offering so-called packages of up to Rs2.5million. He said that the tariff for the Hajj should be made equal under both government and private schemes, so that 100percent Hajj quota could be given on same rates from the next year.
