Pakistan Medical Association concerned over kidnapping of doctor

Karachi, May 10, 2016 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Tuesday expressed concern on kidnapping of Dr Irshad Khoso from Quetta and demanded of Government of Balochistan to ensure safe recovery of the health practitioner. An emergency meeting of PMA Centre and PMA Karachi was held at PMA House Karachi, which was attended by the senior leadership and office bearers of PMA Centre and PMA Karachi. The office bearers of PMA Centre outside the Karachi also participated in the meeting on video link.

The participants of meeting showed a great concern and strongly condemned the kidnapping of Dr Irshad Khoso from Quetta, a Diabetes Specialist at the Bolan Medical Complex. They showed deep concern and doubted that the fresh wave of kidnapping of doctors might start once again. So, we warn the Government of Balochistan to take serious notice of the incidence.

It seems that after a brief period of peace and tranquillity the situation is again going from bad to worse as far as the law and order situation is concerned. At the moment all is not well in Balochistan as the young doctors are protesting and going on strikes every now and then. This culture of strikes and protest although not approve by PMA is unfortunately getting popularity amongst the young doctors.

They demand of the Federal Interior Minister, Chief Minister of Balochistan, Chief Secretary, IG Police and all other state Institutions in Balochistan, which are responsible to maintain the law and order, to take an urgent notice.
