Outgoing Chinese envoy Sun Weidong calls on Senator Sirajul Haq

Lahore, October 03, 2017 (PPI-OT):The outgoing ambassador of China in Pakistan, Mr. Sun Weidong, called on the Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, at the latter’s residence in Islamabad, on Tuesday. JI deputy chief, Mian Muhammad Aslam and JI Foreign affairs Chief Abdul Ghaffar Aziz, were also present.

Talking to the outgoing envoy, Sirajul Haq said that in spite of the negative tactics of the forces desiring instability in the region, the people of China and Pakistan were linked together through strong relations. He noted that China had not only achieved remarkable economic development, it was also striving to spread the fruit of this development to other developing countries and the CPEC was an example of that.

The JI chief said that Islam gave the message of peace to the humanity and it could provide peace and tranquillity to the entire world through mutual love and harmony and mutual respect. He said that the Muslims of Kashmir and Burma were being subjected to oppression for decades and these oppressed people expected China to play a positive role as an important state of the region. He said that some world powers were making negative propaganda about China but he hoped that China would be able to counter their propaganda through its actions.

The outgoing Chinese envoy said on the occasion that he would always remember the love of the Pakistanis. He said that it would always be a matter of pride for him to represent China in this country when the historic projects like CPEC and Gwadar port were being executed. He said that Pak- China relations had a bright future.

He said his country wanted the solution of all regional issues including Kashmir and Burma, through dialogue and bilateral trust. He said that China had always supported the Kashmiris and it would take every possible step in this direction in the days to come as well.

The Chinese envoy further said that his country condemned the violence in Myanmar and had also provided help to the Burmese Muslims reaching Bangladesh. He said that the people of all faiths including the Muslims enjoyed all rights and freedom in his country and they were treated equally.
