Lahore, July 31, 2017 (PPI-OT): The Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission “Ms Renate Pors” and First Secretary Economic Affairs “Ms Winnie van der Wal” both from Netherlands visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) City Campus Lahore and called on Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and held a meeting with UVAS professors.
The Vice-Chancellor briefed the delegation on the UVAS academic, research, extension services, various training programmes and national and international linkages. He said UVAS disburse 50 million rupees as financial aid among the talented deserving students in last year. He said UVAS working actively to enhance milk and meat production in the country through its quality of education. He said for the developing of ostrich farming in Punjab UVAS distributed cheques as subsidy among progressive farmers. He said that UVAS is playing a key role in development of livestock and related sectors.
They also discuss the areas of mutual collaboration between UVAS and veterinary universities of Netherlands for the promotion of education and research. On the occasion, UVAS Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Masood Rabbani and Dean Faculty of Biosciences Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman were also attended the meeting.
