Lahore, October 10, 2017 (PPI-OT):Deputy Chief of the Jamaat e Islami, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, has said that the World Bank had expressed deep concern over the state of Pakistan’s economy and all government claims of economic stability were false.
In a statement here on Tuesday, he said that according to the World Bank report, foreign exchange reserves of the country had fallen considerably while the trade deficit had increased to an alarming level. Financial discipline had been destroyed and rise in the state expenditure and corruption at every level had rendered the economy hollow. He said that the steep rise in the prices of essential items especially fruit, vegetables, eggs had broken the back of the middle class even.
Farid Piracha said that the situation was the outcome of the interest based economy which was open war against Allah and His Prophet. He therefore urged the rulers to immediately abolish the interest based system and also stop their dependence on the international financial institutions.
