The Islamic Educational, Scienti?c and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has published a new French book titled: Guide on the Development and Implementation of Literacy Programs for Sustainable Development, and consisting of 126 pages written by Dr. Seydou Sissi, a former expert at ISESCO directorate of education.

The book includes six chapters, whereby the writer mentioned conceptual approaches and critical analysis of literacy programs, stages of planning literacy programs, necessary steps to activate literacy plans, follow-up evaluation of literacy programs, post-literacy in the context of lifelong learning, impact assessment and the relationship of literacy to sustainable development.

Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, director general of ISESCO, said that ISESCO’s publications are part of its ongoing focus on supporting research on literacy, education, developing literacy curricula, and assisting member states in their efforts to eradicate illiteracy
