Karachi, October 31, 2017 (PPI-OT):A one day workshop entitled “How to successfully manage Students Internship placement through Academia Industry Linkages” organized by Department of Computer Science (UBIT), University of Karachi (KU) under its faculty development program was held. Faculty members of different departments of KU attended the workshop. Workshop was held in collaboration with Pakistan Institute of Entrepreneurship and IEEE Computer Society.
CEO Pakistan Institute of Entrepreneurship Tahir Chaudhary said that faculty members must focus on career development of their students and also to emphasize on their career counselling when they are freshly enrolled. “Teachers must also utilize their summer vacation working with the industry. New industries will be emerging in future and many industries are going towards their end”, he added.
Regional Director of HEC Dr. Javaid Memon addressing on the occasion also emphasized over academia industry linkages. “KU students are enormously talented, KU’s contribution in higher education and research sector of the country is pivotal”, said HEC Regional Director. Dean Faculty of Science KU Prof. Dr. Tasneem Adam appreciated the organizing of the workshop and called for holding such workshops regularly.
Chairman UBIT Dr. Sadiq Ali Khan thanked the teachers, Pakistan Institute of Entrepreneurship and HEC Regional Director Dr. Javaid Memon. “Dr Sadiq Ali Khan Chairman DCS-UBIT, workshop organizer also emphasis about the importance of such kind of workshops among the teachers. He also highlight the facts that how we improve the linkages between the academia and industry in order to fill up the gaps and about the importance of this for the students.
