China Chamber of Commerce delegation to visit Pakistan next week

Islamabad: Bian Zhenhu, President, China Chamber of Commerce of Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal by-products called on Ambassador Masood Khan here this afternoon, says a press release received here today from Beijing, China.

He informed the Ambassador that a 17-member delegation of the China Chamber of Commerce would visit Karachi next week to look into the possibility of increasing bilateral trade between the two countries.

Talking to them, Ambassador Khan said that Pakistan produces some of the best fruits in the world particularly mango, orange and cherry. He encouraged the Chinese businessmen to take advantage of the business-friendly policies of the government of Pakistan and enter into a long-term, mutually profitable relationship with their Pakistani counterparts.

He said that Pakistan and China have completed 60 years of the establishment of their diplomatic relations and 2011 is being celebrated as the year of Pakistan-China friendship by the two countries.

Ambassador Masood Khan said the leadership and people of both the countries are keen to make the economic relations between Pakistan and China stronger. He said the government of Pakistan is taking steps for reducing Pakistan’s trade deficit with China.

Bian Zhenhu mentioned that Chinese businessmen are particularly interested in importing agricultural products, fruits and sea food from Pakistan while exporting garlic, ginger and onion to the country.
