Karachi, The National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA), part of Bahria University, has announced a job opening for a Research Associate position at its Karachi campus. The think tank, which focuses on maritime affairs, is calling for applications from individuals with significant academic credentials in the maritime sector to contribute to ongoing research projects.



According to Bahria University, candidates with a minimum of 18 years of education in maritime affairs, studies, shipping and ports management, environmental studies, marine sciences, or any other related degree from an HEC-approved national or international university are encouraged to apply. Additionally, a sound research background is desired.



The terms of employment include a preference for candidates with at least two years of work or research experience in a wide range of maritime fields, such as climate change, port and shipping management, and maritime safety, among others. Prospective candidates must have a master’s degree (preferably Ph.D.) and a minimum of 10 years of experience for the Research Fellow role, while the Research Associate position requires a master’s degree and at least two years of research experience in academic or think tank settings.



Candidates who exhibit a strong analytical and academic ability, possess excellent writing and communication skills, and have a track record of successfully supervising and leading research projects will be preferred, particularly those with national or international publications.

Karachi, The Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park (PMSTP) of Bahria University Karachi has announced a job vacancy for the position of Manager Accounts at its South Karachi campus. This role calls for a dynamic individual with a strong background in accounts and taxation management.



According to Bahria University, candidates with at least three years of experience in the relevant field, especially those from government or semi-government bodies, are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in accounting software, communication skills, and problem-solving aptitude are among the required qualifications. Preference will be given to those with a company secretary background.



The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including the general accounting function of PMSTP, overseeing cash management and financial reporting, and the supervision of revenue collection from partners and tenants. The Manager will also serve as the focal person for audits and must have a detailed understanding of income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, and financial matters.
