IoBM and Ismail Industries Limited Forge Partnership to Enhance Academia-Industry Ties

Karachi, In a move aimed at bolstering academia-industry linkages, the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) and Ismail Industries Limited (IIL) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, April 09, 2024. This strategic partnership is set to create new avenues for student engagement and professional development.

According to Institute of Business Management, the MoU was signed by Ms. Juveria Baig, Head of Internship and Placement at IoBM, and Mr. Arif Hussain Nomani, Group Senior General Manager HR and Admin at Ismail Industries Limited. The collaboration encompasses a broad spectrum of initiatives aimed at enriching the educational and professional landscape for IoBM students.

Under the agreement, IoBM will act as a talent sourcing hub for IIL, providing students with opportunities for summer internships, Management Trainee Officer (MTO) programs, and campus ambassador roles. Additionally, Ismail Industries Limited commits to being a Platinum Sponsor for IoBM’s Career Fair from 2025 to 2027, further cementing its support for the institution’s career development efforts.

The partnership also extends to Capacity Development initiatives, including surveys and projects that will engage students in capstone and final year projects across various domains of expertise. A notable feature of this collaboration is IIL’s support for IoBM’s Shahjehan S. Karim Incubation Centre (SSKIC) through pre-vetting, mentorship, and funding initiatives for emerging projects, demonstrating a shared commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students.

IIL’s pledge to establish a vibrant space focused on sustainability, recycling, and upcycling at IoBM underscores the partnership’s dedication to environmental consciousness and social responsibility.

DHA Suffa University Announces Eid-ul-Fitr Holiday Schedule

Karachi, DHA Suffa University (DSU) has officially announced its closure in observance of the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday, marking a brief hiatus to allow the university community to celebrate the festive occasion.

According to DHA Suffa University, the institution will suspend operations from April 10 to April 12, 2024, enabling students, faculty, and staff to partake in Eid festivities with their families and loved ones. Normal university activities and classes are scheduled to resume following the holiday period.

Karachi, Karachi Grammar School’s World Geography Department hosted its annual “Colloquy With The Experts” event on March 11th, 2024, focusing on the analysis of Pakistan’s Human Development Index (HDI) and the factors contributing to its low ranking.



According to Karachi Grammar School, the event brought together Year VII students and a panel of experts from various fields to delve into the complexities of Pakistan’s HDI standing, which is positioned at 161 out of 192 countries. The students, having conducted preliminary investigations, posed informed questions to the experts, encompassing economic, educational, healthcare, demographic, and urban planning perspectives.

Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Reappointed as Vice Chancellor of SMIU by CM Sindh

Karachi, Prof. Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Memon has been reappointed as the Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) in Karachi for another four-year term, commencing on August 13, 2024.
