Islamabad, June 02, 2017 (PPI-OT):According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 6 in 10 Pakistanis believe Pakistan should take the first initiative in seeking peace with India.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Turning now to Pakistan’s relationship with India. For each of the following points on Pakistan’s relationship with India, do you personally agree or disagree? And would that be strongly or somewhat?” [Pakistan should take the first initiative in seeking peace with India] In response to this question, 26% said they completely agree that Pakistan should take the initiative in seeking peace with India, 34% said they somewhat agree, 23% said they somewhat disagree, 11% said they completely disagree and 6% did not know.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1872 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during April 17 – April 24, 2017. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
